Carry Me to Jesus

In her book More, author Marilyn Anderes speaks of our need for special friends called "ropeholders," friends akin to the four men who went to great lengths to bring their disabled friend to Jesus. They carried him to the roof of the house, dismantled the roof tiles, and held the ropes to lower their friend's cot right in front of Jesus.

We all need rope-holders in our lives who will point us, woo us, or even carry us to Jesus when we can't do it on our own. Would you prayerfully consider becoming one of our rope-holders?

How you can support us

We have said many, many times (and never with more conviction than now) that we would not be where we are today without the support of our dear family and friends. While we are not yet actively raising financial support, we are nonetheless still in need of your prayers during this time of preparation for future ministry.

Prayer

Here are some ways you can pray for us right now:

Pray that God would help Mike to grow as a Christian counselor, and that He would give Mike humility, wisdom, and courage as he meets with his clients every week.
Pray that Jen would be able to wisely balance her work, her artistic development, and time spent taking care of Tyler.

Pray that we would meet some new Japanese friends, and that we would be able to keep up our Japanese language skills.

Give thanks with us that Tyler was baptized recently! Continue to pray for Tyler's growth and development, that he would grow up to be a godly man who loves and serves the Lord Jesus with all his heart.

Pray that God would help us eliminate the debt we incurred from Mike's schooling.

Pray that our experiences now (church, friendships, career) would be good preparation for our future ministry in Japan.

Pray that Mike would be able to obtain LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) licensure in 2012.
